Over the last weeks a few GTA IV mods have surfaced, however since the game has only just been released modding is still in it's infancy but two mods that I think deserve a mention are the ExplosionFX and Real car names mods by bobbster_uk.
The ExplosionFX mod (Screenshot shown below) makes GTA IV's explosions even more glorious and the Real car names mod, as you can guess, replaces the car names with those of their real-life counterparts.
San Andreas still has a strong following online and there are a welath of mods available for it. A recent favorite of mine is the Design your own Mission mod, which gives you the opportunity to create your own complex missions using the mods intuitive interface.
And the final mod that I want to mention is the Real Weather mod by NTAuthority. The Real Weather mod downloads the weather for your current location every 2 minutes and changes the in-game weather to reflect it!
According to TorrentFreak.com San Andreas is the 2008's 7th most pirated game with 740,000 downloads.

There's been alot going on in the community this past week; GTA IV's first DLC episode being officially announced and alot of buzz being created over the new GTA IV PC video editor, but there have also been a load of new mods come out within the community, many of which are definately worth a look!
These are just a few of my favorites and many more new files can be found in our downloads section!
I like to think that we have a decent selection of addons for the various GTA titles in our downloads archive and with GTA IV PC delayed I thought it may be a good opportunity to get a few more files uploaded for your pleasure. Luckily enough MindF*ck released 4 new vehicles, just this afternoon, all of which make an excellent addition to San Andreas.
The GTA:MTA team have posted an update on their blog to let us know what they have been up to since version 2.3 of their multiplayer mod which was released a little over 2 months ago.
They talk about the changes which focus on scripting tweaks to improve performance and stability both from a client and server-side point-of-view. No mention of when the next version will be released but they did announce that they have purchased mtaiv.com. It will be interesting to see what the talented MTA team can bring to the playing field with GTAIV already featuring multiplayer!
The next Xbox Original title coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace is San Andreas. The game will be availalble for 1200 Microsoft Points (£10/$15). The game will be available around October 20th in North America, however; there are no release dates for other territories.
I very rarely make posts about files (infact I never make posts about files) but one modder in particular has recently caught my attention. OnePiece, as he is known, has taken it upon himself to re-create a selection of his favorite cars from GTAIII using better quality models and textures.
The results as seen below are quite stunning especially when linked with ENBSeries Beta 0.074f, which is a graphical enhancement mod by BorisVorontsov.
To download the files simply click the corresponding image. All of the above files are for San Andreas, however, GTA III versions are also available.
The following has just been posted over at the MultiTheftAuto homepage. It is a high priority update, and must be installed rather than v2.2, which was released just 2 days ago.
An immediate, high priority error that occured for first-time users trying to install the previous release has forced us to make another update to the Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas Deathmatch game client.
To sum it up, if you were experiencing any serial number (or user account) problems or received any "Mod not found" in-game messages, we strongly recommend you to download this new release which contains fixes for these problems.
Serial support has been temporarily dropped due to reasons stated below, and may be replaced by a new system in the next major release (v1.0-dp3). In the mean time, this release should make sure that anyone who wishes to play can play. Do not be alarmed by the "dp2.1" version notation in-game: the actual game logic has not been changed, as only the necessary parts were patched to solve the above issues.
You can download the file form our downloads section.
The Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas team have released a client update, which irons out several issues, especially those regarding serial numbers.
Version 2.2 was released exclusively to fix these problems and does not contain any major enhancements that are scheduled for release in version 3.0, mainly due to stability.
You can download the latest version of Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas from the downloads section.
Last week the MultiTheftAuto team released Development Preview 1 of their highly anticipated mod. Overall there has been an excellent reception and in response to that they have decided to release Development Preview 2.
As mentioned in the original post the main purpose of this release is to find bugs but never the less it’s still an absolute blast!
