GTA4Mods.com have released the first version of their mod manager. Hopefully this is the first of many modding tools for GTA IV.
You can get v1.0 of the mod manager from our downloads section.
Take Two and Rockstar have extended their partnership until January 31, 2012. You can read the full press release on Take2Games.com.
As far as preorder incentives go this is one of the most bizarre I've ever seen. If you preorder the game with GameStop you'll receive $10,000 in-game cash and immediate access to every single in-game weapon.
This seems perculiar earning money and "unlocking" new weapons are one of the main aspects of playing through the game. While they're at it they should include a 100% save-game and list of spoilers...
In Rockstar's latest newsletter they have provided a picture of what appears to be the Chinatown Wars DS boxart.
10 New screenshots for "The Lost and Damned" have been released. Check out our GTA IV media page to view the full set.
Rockstar games have released the following statement detailing that Chinatown Wars will be delayed until 17th and 20th of March 2009 in North America and Europe, respectively.
Critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto franchise makes its DS debut this March
New York, NY – December 15, 2008 - Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the release date for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the latest entry into the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto series. Developed by Rockstar Leeds, in conjunction with series creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available for the Nintendo DS™ on March 17 and 20, 2009 in North America and Europe, respectively.
"Rockstar Leeds have once again created a game that far exceeds our standard for deep and innovative entertainment," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We are incredibly excited to share this enormous and uncompromising Grand Theft Auto experience with DS fans."
Edge Magazine commented, "How does Rockstar follow Grand Theft Auto IV? By rebuilding Liberty City from the ground up on DS - and not compromising its vision one iota."
Nintendo Power added, "...it's undeniable that Chinatown Wars is doing something no other DS game has come close to: creating that living, breathing world the Grand Theft Auto games are known for."

Earlier we reported that Rockstar had released a patch to fix some problems within GTA IV PC. Now it turns out that there are some bugs in the patch. Rockstar has created a possible solution to the problem, which can be seen below;
With the latest Title Update, some users are experiencing a Look/Spin/Stuck Key issue that interferes with user input. The temporary fix, described below, will restore Keyboard/Mouse and XInput (360) controller functionality. Support for DirectInput devices is currently limited. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
To fix the issue:
A1) Unplug any DirectInput controllers (gamepads, joysticks etc..)
A2) Reboot your computer
A3) Launch GTA IVIf the issue persists, the following instructions are provided as a guide to assist you in deleting the conflicting DirectInput drivers:
B1) Exit game
B2) Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Manager->Human Interface Devices
B3) Locate drivers for devices
B4) Delete drivers for devices
B5) Launch GTA IV**Some users are able to reinstall the drivers for their DirectInput devices, with the device attached, and have found that it will work in game. If you do attempt to reinstall your device and the problem resurfaces, please follow steps B1-B5 again.
Let us know if the above fix works or if you have had better / different results using another method.
Rockstar have finally released the long-awaited GTA IV patch. The patch corrects several issues, however, I'm sure that another patch will be released in the near future.
A list of changes can be seen below.
Issues with power management software have also been fixed (slow speed, double speed issues). Even after the patch comes out setting power management software to maximum performance is recommended. We’ve seen cases where power management software does not detect the game is running and puts the CPU in green mode.
Besides the patch we’ve also improved the way the Social Club handles data this should have greatly reduced or eliminated the MMA10 error. If you are still receiving this error after logging in and out of Social Club we would like to know as much info as you can about it.
I am particularly proud to announce the launch of our new community forum. We seem to be getting a lot of activity around the site and I thought it would be a nice touch to channel some of that activity into a forum where you folks could ask any questions that you may have regarding the games or this site.
The forum is scratch built and has been tested extensively but if you have any problems please feel at liberty to make a post in our feedback forum. In the meantime have fun!
